Talk:Te Deum in D major, HWV 278 (Handel, George Frideric)

Probably should be HWV 278

I don't think that this is HWV 280. Instead, I think it should be HWV 278 (the "Utrecht" Te Deum), and is paired with Jubilate in D major, HWV 279 (Handel, George Frideric).
HWV 280 is the "Queen Caroline" Te Deum (composed a year after the HWV 278, HWV 279 pair).

"Complete" score - is it really?

Hi. I am new here so apologies if I'm missing the point or something ... please feel free to advise. What it looks like to me is that the file under "Complete Score" is actually the Jubilate, not the Te Deum. I base this observation on the fact the the table of contents in the score shows the Te Deum starting on p. 2 and the Jubilate on p. 46; the PDF contains only pp 46-87 from the score; the music presented therein is consistent with the ToC. I think, therefore, that the Te Deum itself is absent. Or am I just confused or wrong? Thanks and best wishes Nevilley 14:22, 6 January 2012 (UTC)

Oops - it's slightly worse than that. The real score for the Te Deum is here at an old version of the Jubilate page now redirected to this (Te Deum) page. So they were backwards at some point but now redirected so that the Te Deum has kind-of vanished. I think I see what needs done, but I have no idea how to do it. The main requirement is that whoever does do it looks at the actual score music pages, not just at the title page. If the music starts on the printed p2 then it's the Te Deum; if on the printed p. 46 then it's the Jubilate. (And yeah, sorry, my italics for titles didn't survive too long ...) I've now restored the old Jubilate page and switched the two files - is that adequate? Thanks, KGill talk email 17:36, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
Apologies for the slow response and yes, thank you, it is. At least to my inexpert eye and limited comprehension, that seems to be precisely what was required. Thanks and best wishes, Nevilley 11:39, 20 January 2012 (UTC)
