Navigation etc.

Premiere date possibly September 6. See Program Notes, Boston Symphony Orchestra written as, apparently, very deep background to a 1905 program containing a performance of Liszt's "Loreley".

The overture was published separately as Lachner's Op.49. Orchestration is for the overture.

"Stokes' Encyclopedia of Music and Musicians" (1909) (p.342) of course in its entry on "Loreley" attributes the opera to "F." Lachner.

BSB has uploaded the libretto, also (WorldCat.)

The various BSB card catalog entries for the performance materials for Loreley (only two of the considerable number of which are linked above), have (translating, right after Molitor and Wendling) "[Deleted]: Ulrich Riester & Valentin Wohlgemuth". It's unclear whether the librarians mean that those names should be there and are lacking, or are there and should not be!
