"In Paris, a Seine water pump was installed on the Pont-Neuf to supply the pools and gardens of the nearby Tuileries. The facade of the building was decorated with gilded bronzes representing Christ and the Samaritan woman at Jacob's well. The carillon sounded the hours but stopped working under the reign of Louis XIV. This music imitating the singing of bells directly refers to this carillon." - Musiques en Flandres
