The violin I part of the oboe concerto in A minor of Heinichen (SeiH 212), (see Oboe Concerto in A minor, S.212 (Heinichen, Johann David)) is the same as the violin part of this duo here. Probably the oboe part is the solo part and the other parts are missing in the SLUB. According to Haynes Rieck died 1704, so the authorship of Heinichen seems to be more likely.

• Fallacious reasoning. That a copy of one work was made in the mid-18th century, and that that is all one knows, says absolutely zilch about when a composer flourished. If this were the case, if all JS Bach's works were lost but one*, we would have to conclude he flourished in the early 21st century. As to the rest: possibly this is the Heinichen, possibly the Heinichen is a retranscription of the earlier Rieck work.

*Not just any Bach work- I mean, if all JS Bach's work were lost but Alles mit Gott und nichts ohn' ihn, BWV 1127.
