Though BnF has an autograph manuscript that has the accompaniment as orchestral, Grove Music says the accompaniment was piano. BnF also says this was in a collection of 6 New Part Songs, second series, no.3. It is unknown whether the orchestral version pre-dates the collection, or even if that collection had piano accompaniment (though it probably did). Tagged for both for now, and subject to correction.
