Accompaniment was orchestrated by Chadwick in 1914. Librettist is Mrs. L.T. Craigin. The only information I could locate about her is that she translated one of Bruch's vocal works in 1881 and was listed in Clark's Boston Blue Book in the mid-1880s. She wasn't listed in the 1880 census.

  • Actually, see VIAF - she contributed or worked on texts to several works some of which we have (4 Songs, Op.18, by Edvard Grieg, and translation? of Die Tageszeiten, Op.209, by Joachim Raff.) A google search suggests she was also an author of various religious books including one published in 1900 (or so?). Couldn't tell you her dates aside from that.

The one published in the 1900s may be a reprint or such ; The World's best music: famous songs and those who made them, Volume 4 claims she died in the 1880s (though may be mistaken.) OTOH, she translated a book as early as 1843...
