  • This piece is an arrangement for organ of an old traditional herding tune from Älvdalen in Dalarna (Dalecarlia), Sweden. There are several famous organ arrangements of the same melody. e.g. those by Oskar Lindberg and by Anders Bond, both written in 1936. Now I wish to contribute with my own arrangement, intending to deliver a version which is very easy to play and which takes special care of the folk music character of the original melody. The introduction is based on traditional Swedish herding calls, which are sung by female herds in a special singing technique which in Swedish is called "kulning".
